It is fun to shop at craft fairs. People who usually come at craft fairs look for interesting bits to give away as presents for their friends, colleagues, peers or loved ones. Some people however, come at craft fairs in search for decorating items to furnish their home with.
What I will teach you now are different crafts that can be excellent accessories for your home. Candles can be bought at craft fairs and are instant dcor boosters for your homes. They come in different colors, sizes and shapes. Candles are popular accessories as they provide instant boost of dcor in any spaces. Candles are suitable to place on top of your living room coffee table, as a dining table accessory (placed on top of a table runner), or as a bathroom dcor.
Floral pillow cases from flea markets are also excellent pieces to beautify and decorate your home. Flea market finds are generally cheap because they are either second hand goods being sold by their previous owners or bargain items from shops. You can also dress up your bedroom in spring style by using floral bed sheets and comforters. Try it with matching floral area rugs also purchase from craft shows.
Quilts are also popular items that could give instant designer boost on areas such as bedrooms and living rooms. Some places make use of quilts as something to document history or a special event in the family. Quilts like these are displayed and hanged at walls. Craft fairs or craft shows feature decorative quilts for the homes use and they are almost always handmade.
Frames are also cheap alternatives to decorate your home. Crafters earn by making charming hand made frames and sell them at craft fairs. You too can make your own low-budget but elegant picture frame. Just cut up a nice image from a used newspaper (Such as landscapes, birds) and paste it onto a thick card stock. Make sure that the card stock is one or two shades darker than your image to be able to provide a good sense of depth. Finish it by placing in a cheap picture frame.

There are many tips on how to succeed in selling your crafts at craft fairs. One known tip is by researching and thoroughly knowing your target market, or finding out if there really is a target market. This will save you the time and effort in developing your product, your marketing strategy, your directory of inexpensive and quality suppliers- in case you have no target market. There are concerns that are crucial in having a successful crafting career. Knowing your target market is the first and basic step in selling your crafts.
Next is to create a working and trusted marketing strategy for your product or business. This includes making flyers and advertising through word of mouth. Other technology savvy people are using the Internet to market their products online. They put up websites that promote their products. In this way, people from far places will also be informed of your product and they can have the chance to buy from you. Your website should never be without your business name and location in it as it would be entirely useless to do so.
Next step is to set up a reliable pricing system. This is also a very crucial aspect in becoming successful in the crafting business as this will determine your profits and gains. It will determine if you were able to succeed in your writing gig. Look up to competitors prices and try to have a slightly lower price than them. This way, you can have knowledge of how much it is generally purchased at. Try to improve your products quality a little higher than the competitor so it would be a reasonable move for you to charge higher than the usual.
Another tip is to make an easy and effective accounting system. This will give you a clear view of how your business is going and will also provide a great tool for effectively working out your business finances. This is a very important business companion as it will equip you with simple to complex money or financial situations that are very essential in running a business successfully.
Now go over these tips and try to follow them on your selling endeavor. Enjoy!

Indiana is holding one of the largest mushroom festivals and car shows in the surrounding states, the Mansfield Village Mushroom Festival and Car Show which is most usually held around the weekends of the last week of April. The mushroom festival is a certified family event and a sure crowd gatherer, especially if you have the weekend off for some mushroom gathering fun.
The event will register early, so it is advised that you get your family wagon (don’t forget to bring your family of course) up and running and go to the registration site for the events. You can choose from organized mushroom hunts, buying of mushrooms, and the selling of mushrooms at organized auctions. There are prizes for the largest hunted mushroom for the day (as long as it is a mushroom, the judges would not care where you got it…so long as it’s not illegal).
Enjoy the mushroom you hunt because you can bring it home and make it into a hearty, and delightful meal. Those who find the largest and most mushrooms from everyone also gets to bring home an intriguing hand carved, wooden mushroom walking stick.
The registration starts at around eight to ten in the morning with an eight dollar entry fee. Mushrooms for selling at the Mushroom Auction are open all day, for bidders and sellers near and far. Auctions are held at the Red Barn.
The Mansfield Car Show happens on the second day of the festival, a Sunday, with registrations from eight in the morning up until noontime. Oldies up till the latest models will come parading, so car lovers are bound to find something to pique their interest. There are also shops and vendors setting up arts, crafts and flea markets for the buyer in you. Tours for the Mansfield Roller Mill are open and there are food booths for the gastronomist as well.

St. Patricks Day is a fun celebration for all ages. Let your little ones enjoy St. Patricks Day by teaching them how to make their own Leprechaun eyeglasses . A leprechaun is a part of an Irish legend that will bring you to a pot of gold. The legend also says that leprechauns have hidden treasures and the only way to get them is by catching and interrogating one.
Making leprechaun eyeglasses is very quick and easy but first you must gather the materials. You will need the following: green construction paper or cardboard paper, a pipe cleaner, a pair of scissors and green cellophane. Cut along the green construction paper in the shape of eye glasses. Cut through the center to make eyeholes. Paste green cellophane through the cellophane. Poke the sides and insert the pipe cleaner and gently twist the ends. Place it on your ear and gently curve the end to form. Have fun with your eyeglasses and design it with embellishments.
To make handprint shamrock you must first gather the materials. You will need: light green and green-colored construction paper, scissors and glue. Place a childs hand on the green construction paper and trace. Make three hand traces following the shape of the three leafed clover. Next, cut out the hand traces. Place the hand trace on the light green construction paper and trace a big three-clover leaf. Cut it and glue a stem at the bottom using the green colored construction paper.
Have fun and enjoy with your St. Patricks Day crafts. Invite your friends kids over your home and arrange crafts lessons for them to enjoy. Encourage the parents to participate too!
Why don’t you spread this article around with your friends so they would also have fun spending their St. Patricks Day by bonding with their kids and making crafts?

Multi-tiered appearances also make for good appeal with prospective customers. The concept of placing multi-tier levels in your table is a bit of an optical illusion since it will give your display table a look of depth, quality, mystery and even evoke a bit of the customer or client’s curiosity. Arrange your products in a way that it will have the glorious depth of evoking the customer’s shopping hand.
With color coordination, it is important that you at least have a good color sense when coordinating stuff around the table. Contrast two different colors to bring each item’s good trait out. A good color combination will also bring people more to your table than some other display with drab designs and pale touches.
Your sitting height should be just as tall or at least taller than your table. Although it’s not for the writing prerequisite (like writing a receipt or a check), having a taller chair signifies confidence and will over all, and helps with the appearance of your table as well.
Have a separate space for displaying your products, transacting with customers and also for pay out and wrapping. It is quite hassling and disorderly to look at when everything is happening in just one table. Observe order and try to move everything to a different table (just don’t rent out another place or you might find yourself losing more money than gaining profits.)
Have samplers and free treats! That is one of the best ways to draw in customers, even if they’re just mildly interested. Don’t forget that it should be related to your craft wares (if it’s jewelry, seriously, think again). Business cards or colorful brochures ought to do for those which cannot be brought by samplers. Have at least a sampler for all age groups (or even species, like pets). You’ll never know when you’ll need it.

Going to your first fair outing can be a very good, or a very bad experience, depending on how you handle situations. There are things you need to plan before hand, things to prepare, things to look out for, how events will unfold tomorrow, who handles this and that and so much more. It can be a very stressful event, but with proper preparations and with the right execution of these; you can bet that you will easily breeze through the day just like any other.
Firstly, consider what you are going to sell in the fair. No, now is not the time to change mind and go for the other product. You spent weeks beforehand preparing those things. So pimp them up to sellable-looks and keep them safe until showtime. If they’re food, prepare them according to specifications. If they’re crafts, clean them and shine them so they have that sparkly sheen that screams “Buy me NOW!”
Consider your wardrobe for the whole day. Of course, most craft newbies would make the mistake of thinking they only need one change of clothes for the whole day. Depending on the environment, and the activity that you engage in while in the event grounds. Wear something comfortable, and at the same time appealing to both your customers and your clients. Bring a change of clothes as well, so you can fit in in any situation that may arise in the site.
Bring food and funds in convenient and easy to carry package. One that would fit in your pocket. Food should be refreshing, nutritious and adequate for your stomach. Avoid foods that react badly to wild temperature, and avoid fats and dairy products as well. Light snacks should do well. Avoid foods that cannot be eaten with fingers only, or may require utensils.
Preparing for a day in the fair would be easy. If you follow your own pace and incorporate these steps that I suggested.

Yes, you have the tools and the finances needed to start your very own business, but what market will you start with? You often hear the terms “You should do what you love and do what you do best” or “Be in the know with what you’re doing, and do it for the sake of craft, and not for money”. Well, let me tell you something, the world is a bit more complicated than that which can be explained by a few quotes.
With the argument of doing something you like versus it’s profitability; let us take the universal truth, most people do not need trinkets and baubles. Perhaps if they have the money to spare, of if they have something they truly love; then they will spend money on it.
Unless your craft includes valued stones and gems (which are all good investments for the future), most people will not give in their money for something that would be seldom used or moderately valuable stuff. In any case, think as to the value and what your product can give to people. Educate and elucidate the use and practicality of your item in order to coax them to buy.
Belief and practicality are different. Your terms of people will buy this, is different from what actual people need. If the mass doesn’t need, or doesn’t like your product, don’t force it. Simply look for other markets that will readily accept your products. Forcing it will merely provoke reports of unintentional harassment in their part and yours.
When you do find your calling, give it your very best, like your business depends on it. Because it does! Improve upon your trade and give people the aura that it’s a good investment. And prove that it is a very good business to settle on. Create networks and socialize to enforce your craft.

A crafting business would never be complete without having the necessary tools for crafting. Let us start by discussing the basic tools used in a crafting business. It is advisable to invest in some of these basic tools so that your crafting business can start in the right manner. Properly take care of these tools so that you wont need to spend and buy again in case they got broken.
A pair of scissors is an important tool in crafting. It cuts and trims on paper, card stocks and on your crafts. Some scissors leave an interesting and decorative impression on paper. Scissors are one of the basic tools in crafting and a crafter should never be without it. Punchers, especially the new and decorative ones are also used to leave impressions on paper. Different shapes can now be achieved through the use of innovative punchers.
Invest in an organizer and you will never have to worry about missing pieces again. Look for an organizer which has numerous divisions so you can sort and arrange tools/ embellishments and supplies properly. Try to buy an organizer with numerous divisions and pockets that will allow you to have a specific place for your embellishments and supplies. Transparent and multi-layered organizers let you see whats inside each compartments without having to open them.
Adhesives of different types and kinds are also basic elements in a crafters toolbox. There are wide varieties of adhesives available now, depending on the type of craft or artwork it will be used. Tacking adhesives are used if you would want your craft to stand out and have a higher level than the rest. This will provide your artwork with a sense of depth. Adhesives can be quite expensive especially those that are used for specialized crafting purposes. Go for branded adhesives as they are proven to last.
Papers are probably the most basic tool in crafts making. Nowadays there are a lot of varieties of paper available in the market. Papers vary from weight, color, thickness, size, and texture. There are also scented paper for specialized crafting requirements.

During these times more people are turning to the practical side of life, they either get rid of other habits that they got used to or look for other ways to earn more. Some people who have their day time jobs learn how to make a sideline or side business in order to have something to spend for a planned weekend vacation, a piece of dress or even just to add up on her savings. They usually make use of their skills of their talents in order to earn extra cash.
Creative people are lucky because they can use this inner core gift to their advantage. They can make crafts and sell them to people they know who would be willing to buy them. They can go to craft fairs or craft festivals where more people can view their products and where there could be higher chances that it could be bought. Crafts fairs are a venue where sellers and buyers meet and greet in one roof. These venues are full of people who use their creativity in order to earn more.
Online selling is also an option where you can sell your goods using the internet as your medium. You can take images of your work and post it in your websites or blog for buyers to see. It states there your products information along with its description and price. Online selling is a cheaper alternative to sell your stuffs since you dont need to pay booth or exhibit dues. It means no registration/ booth fees, no transportation and membership dues which are common on craft fairs.
So what is the better option in selling your crafts?
I believe both have the same advantages and disadvantages but for me, I prefer selling to crafts fairs. Why? It is because of the experience of that you will gain by selling your stuffs face to face. I believe that interacting and speaking with your customers are a best way to learn how to effectively sell and be good in the business.

Attending craft fairs can be pretty stressing and tiring. Why? The dizzying shops, colorful items on sale and the endless chatter of people haggling and selling are what may contribute to a headache bout and hunger pang. It is good to know that craft fairs offer treats for the gastronomic needs. These treats and goodies are what we would tackle in this article.
One example of a culinary treat that is often present at craft fairs are hotdogs. It is true that we can see hotdog stands and kiosks almost everywhere in craft fairs not only because they are easy to set-up and tear down, but it is also an excellent treat that could fill a hungry stomach well and fast. A hotdog meal is very filling because of the bread that comes with it. Finish it with a glass of cold drink and your energy and stamina is revitalized for that next set of shopping spree!
Ice cream is also a favorite as the continuous shopping can make buyers long for a cold and refreshing treat. A cone of ice cream is a very good relief on craft fair shopping especially on the summer season. Ice cream are also reportedly very famous for kids so they can have something to keep themselves busy while their parents go about doing their business at crafts fairs.
Another treat that is always seen in craft fairs is the barbecue. Barbecue is a fast gourmet meal that takes minutes to prepare. It is popular in cook offs and in craft fair because it is easy to prepare and it can be eaten while walking or shopping. The aroma of grilling barbecue serves as a perfect foreground and invitation for spectators and would be participants in the fair. The aroma and smoke emanating from a barbecue cook off heightens the senses and further enrich the experience.
Come at a craft fair near your neighborhood and observe the culinary treats they offer.
