If you want to take care of fish and their aquarium, you should try to relate to those fish. You can pick between freshwater and saltwater fish. The freshwater fish are of two types: coldwater and tropical. There are a number of fish types that you can get if you want to start keeping fish.
The Pantodontidae Species: This family of fish includes a few types, like the butterfly or the flying fish. Their origin is West Africa and their maximum size is 10cm (4 inches). The body of the butterfly fish is flat and it has small patterns on it. Tropical fish have a flat shape for the body.
The family from which the butterfly fish originates from is Chaetodontidae. They have an upward turned mouth and boat shaped bodies. You will also notice a huge chest that is wing like. Some of the will be colored brown, while others will be green or gray. In some cases you will see dark spots or streaks on their bodies.
This is a species that is quite passive, but you should still keep them together with fish of the same size or species.
Feeding them They will not eat from the aquarium’s bottom. They would rather eat small fish or insects. You can also teach them to eat worms or meat based dishes. Teaching them to do that will require a long stick.
The type of water They enjoy water that is a bit soft, with a temperature around 80F. The butterfly fish should be kept in an aquarium that is only half filled, but have plenty of thick plants inside.
This is not a fish that will breed easily in captivity. If you want fish that will breed, pick a species that will do that. If you still want to go with the Pandotidae and they do breed, give their offspring minute insects to eat. It takes around three days for the eggs to hatch.
The Mormyridae Species Another fish species is the Mormyridae, which can be found in Central and South Africa. One interesting fact about this fish is that their brain weight to body weight ratio is comparable to that of a man. It’s a fish that is easy to teach and curious about their surroundings. If you want to buy this fish, you should make sure they get the proper food, or they might decline it.
The Marcusenius Schilthuisiae Species It’s also called trunkfish or in some cases elephant trunkfish. Their origin is Central Congo and their maximum size is 10cm (4 inches). Their body is a silver/brown with a dull tubercle and some dark bands. In many aspects, this fish is similar with the G. Petersi, in areas like food, sexing, water conditions and breeding.
The Gnathonemus Petersi Species Another name for this species is elephant nosed fish. Their maximum size in an aquarium is around 10cm (4 inches) and they can be found in Congo and Cameroon. However, in the wild they can get to 23cm (9 inches). Their chins are elongated and squeezed against their body. They have both a dorsal and an anal fin. Their color is either dark brown or black, with two white stripes.
It’s a passive fish that can be kept in aquariums with other species of fish. They like eating freshwater fleas and Tubifex. Their aquarium should have plenty of plants for them to hide in and the temperature of the water should be 80F. Powerful lights are not a good idea.

The Three Spot Angelfish likes freshwater and belongs to the Holacanthus Trimaculatus family of fish. These fish are probably one of the best looking tropical fish that you can find. Their body is golden yellow and it has lips colored dark blue. The origin of this fish is the Indian or the West Pacific ocean. Their shape is a bit like the butterfly fish. Blue is also the color of the fish’s throat. Two patches on the upper side that are darker give this fish the name it has.
The internal part of the anal fin is white, while the outer area is colored black. The maximum length of the fish is 25cm (10 inches). They should be kept in conditions similar to those used for Butterfly fish. They will eat larvae, plants and small creatures. They can be kept in community aquariums with other types of fish, but it would be better if they were on their own.
The Pajama Cardinal Fish is part of the Sphaeramia Nematoptera family. They can be found usually in the Indo-Australian and China seas. They can be found in areas that are a bit shaded and the water temperature should vary between 75 and 80F. The pH level should be 8 for the water inside the tank and the lighting shouldn’t be too bright.
Make sure you decorate the aquarium so the fish has plenty of places to hide. They enjoy feeding on crustaceans, small fish and plankton. They are aggressive and predatory. Their body has a deep shape and it’s very colorful. Looking at the dorsal fins, they will look widely divided. They have large heads and a dorsal that is quite distinctive looking, with big eyes and mouth. They look like yellow/brown fish, but they also have other colors on their body, like brown and orange.
In the nature, the Pajama Cardinal will be found in peaceful areas. They can be kept in aquariums with in school fish.
You can feed the Pajama Cardinal both live and prepared food. They will be found in Sumatra and East Africa. Their colors are white, yellow, dark brown and black. Their maximum size is 12.50 cm (5 inches).
The Yellow Tailed Anemone is part of the Amphiprion Clarkii family. They can be found at the bottom of the aquarium and they should be kept together with fish from the same family.
You can feed the Pajama Cardinal both live and prepared food. They will be found in Sumatra and East Africa. Their colors are white, yellow, dark brown and black. Their maximum size is 12.50 cm (5 inches).
The Frogfish is part of the Anennaridae family and can be found in warm seawater. They are territorial fish, which should be kept with compatible species. The best would be to keep them with other fish that are bigger and more peaceful.

Auks are here associated with Divers and Grebes in accordance with the common practice, but: they are now often assigned to a distinct order, supposed to be most nearly related to Gulls.
Their feet are pretty much like those of Divers, except that the great toe is either absent or extremely small. The shank and shin-bone do not exhibit the peculiarities described above for Divers and Grebes. Although the wings are short, the power of .flight has not been lost in existing species, though the extinct Great Auk or Gare- Fowl (Alta impennis) was flightless.
Our commonest British species are the Razor- Bill (Alca torcia), the Guillemot (Uric frolic), and the Puffin (Fratercula arctica). The most interesting point about the Auks is that they swim under water chiefly by means of their wings, while the webbed feet are used as rudders. In this sort of submarine flight the Great Auk appears to have excelled the forms now living.
The diving powers, however, are not very great, except in the American White Pelican (Pelecallus trac4yritynchus). Here, as in all the members of the order except Tropic Birds, the nostrils are almost covered over by a membrane, an arrangers Alt which is clearly advantageous when the head is frequently.:over water.
Divers differ from Grebes in several respects, among which may be mentioned the presence of complete webs between the three front toes, somewhat longer wings, and a rather better developed tail.
They are covered with short, almost scale-like feathers, and are, so to speak, twisted round, so as to give a very effective backward stroke, whereas in the wing of an ordinary flying-bird the downward movement is naturally the best marked. Penguins are characteristic of the southern hemisphere, the largest species being the Emperor Penguin (Aptenodytes Forsteri), native to Victoria Land and the neighbouring ocean area, and reaching the length of 3 feet. The smallest member of the order is the Blue Penguin (Sjsheniscus minor), which attains a length of 19 inches, and is found in the New Zealand and South Australian areas.

Giving you tips on how to take care of every single one of the 20,000 fish that are out there would be impossible. But I can give you basic tips on taking care of an aquarium. While animals are usually protected by their coat, fish don’t have that option. That’s why they need the temperature of the water to be just right for them. If the temperature is high, the supply of the oxygen is minimized. If it’s low, then their health can be affected.
When you bought your aquarium, you probably got a brochure or a manual with instructions. Read it carefully, as you risk the health or life of your fish if you don’t take care of them properly. For example, goldfish need 75F to be their water temperature. Tropical fish will need the temperature to be a bit higher.
A thermometer probably came with the aquarium you bought, and you should pay attention to it. Each type of fish needs a certain water temperature, so get this information when you buy the fish.
Measuring the water The pH is the term that shows you how sour the water is. The pH level that you need depends on the type of fish you own. A fish that needs saltwater will mean a pH between 7.8 and 8.3. A fish that needs freshwater will mean a pH between 6.8 and 7.2.
You should monitor those pH levels on a regular basis. A low water temperature means that the growth of the bacteria denitrifying can be affected, and the same goes for the fish gills. Test kits are available for purchase, if you want to measure the pH levels.
Oxygen quantities needed by fish Humans, land animals and fish need oxygen in order to survive. If there isn’t enough, the brain dies and the same thing happens to the body. The oxygen from the aquarium comes both from the water and the air. If you want an increased oxygen level, you can use pumps to do it. Another option would be to keep the water temperature lower, as the oxygen supply is augmented.
Measuring gravity The gravity level in this case shows you how many chemicals are inside the water. If the water is unadulterated, then the gravity level in ionic is 1.0. For a saltwater fish, the level of the gravity should be 1.023 at most (1.017 would be best for their health). If you have freshwater fish in your aquarium, a small amount of salt can help them with the stress level. The gravity level can be maintained with the help of test kits and refractometers.
How to keep saltwater fish in your aquarium This is a bit of a problem for many people. Because these fish usually leave in a marine environment, they are used with constant changes. The aquarium type you chose is also important for these fish. A bigger aquarium makes it easier for you to keep a stable environment for your saltwater fish.

A tattoo is a permanent setting made by introducing ink into the layers of skin, to change the pigment, usually for ornamental reasons. Skin was the first canvas for art. Sticks and other pointy objects were the 1st paintbrushes, and tattooing was a form of building scars. This involved injuring oneself and jamming dirt or ashes into the wound to discolor it permanently. It is believed that prehistoric man cut holes in his skin, charred sticks in the fire, let them cool and then applied the black content to the injury to create tribal markings.
Primitive man thought the procedure of tattooing brought out sacred life forces, since it called for pain, blood and fire. The flow of blood was also associated with a sacrifice to the Gods. Tattoos were also used to bring one’s soul in alignment with God’s purpose, increase virility and fertility, and ensure the preservation of the dead body after the death.
Tattooing has been a Eurasian practice since at least Neolithic times. Otzi the Iceman (dating from the fourth or fifth millennium BC), found in the Alps, had approximately 57 carbon tattoos consisting of simple dots and lines on his lower spine, behind his left knee, and on his right ankle.
Pre-Christian Germanic, Celtic, and other central and northern European tribes were often heavily tattooed, with elaborate designs. Tattooing in Japan goes back to the Paleolithic era, probably, approximately ten thousand years ago. Between 1603-1868, Japanese tattooing was only practiced by the ukiyo-e (the floating world culture). Generally firemen, manual workers and prostitutes wore tattoos, that communicated their status. Between 1720-1870, criminals were tattooed as a visible mark of punishment.
Tattooing features prominently in Chinese literature, in addition, Chinese legend has it that the mother of Yue Fei, the most famous general of the Song Dynasty, tattooed the words jing zhong bao guo, on his back with her needle before he left to join the army, reminding him to repay his country with pure loyalty.
Tattooing in the Western world originates in Polynesia, with the discovery of tatau by eighteenth-century explorers. Henna and Mehndi were popular in ancient India and ancient Egypt, and still remain popular in some parts. An ancient practice of tattooing in the Middle East involved people cutting themselves and rubbing in ash (from the deceaseds funeral pyre) during a period of mourning, after an individual had died. It was a sign of respect for the dead, and s symbol of reverence, as well as a sense of profound loss.

Tattoos epitomized rebellion and revolutionary natures, and were used to promote individualism. While these properties and characteristics are still true today, it is evident that the tattoo business scene has changed radically. The reality show craze of the last 5 years has touched off a new movement” reality shows about tattooing. The most popular tattoo reality shows are TLCs Miami Ink, and LA Ink.
It is time to take a break from personas searching for love, money, or attention- urgently hungering for their fifteen minutes of fame, and move on to genuinely talented artists. In spite of all the drama, some good tattoo designs and surprisingly touching stories are captured on film.
Yes, lately, reality tattoo TV shows have been doing the rounds. Rio Ink- from Rio de Janeiro, is the latest body art reality show to hit the airwaves. It is a Discovery Channel spin-off of the original hit Miami Ink, and like the original, it follows five tattoo artists as they go about their work. The Rio Ink artists include: Lucio Tattoo (the passionate artist and shop owner), CH2 (known for his graffiti/hip-hop style), Lia (the only female artist, known for her feminine designs), Daniel (skilled at transforming existing designs), and Magathi (with years of experience).
The tattoo shop Banzai Tattoo is situated in the center of Ipanema. The series catches the unique energy of a beachfront Brazilian tattoo parlor, and allows for a background on the clients and their causes for acquiring a tattoo. One of the characteristic tattoos in the Rio Ink series is a tribute to the Afro-Brazilian deity Iemanja.
Thus, the popularity of reality-based television shows now brings you tattooing live and in colour, right into your very own living room! You can even watch Inked presented by the A&E Network. This, is set inside an actual working tattoo parlour, and generally follows the various daily activities of the tattoo artists and clients who come into the shop to get tattooed.
Then there is Miami Ink, that occurs in the South Beach region of Miami, Florida. The show looks at a series of clients and their tattoos, and introduces each as a little story. The diverse clients all talk about their designs, what the tattoo implies to them, why they feel it was time to get that special tattoo, and why they picked the artist that they were doing work with. Also worthy of mention is Inked, which happens in the Hart & Huntington Tattoo Company shop, settled in the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The tattoo businessis becoming more and more popular- thus, the potential for building a career out of it is opening up to a lot of individuals. But learning how to become a tattoo artist isnt leisurely- and it isnt for everyone. You need raw, artistic talent to make the grade.
The first step is to exercise and hone your artistic skill. Read books, take classes, and meet with fellow artists. Put together a portfolio of your work- this is basically a collection of your art that you can show to prospective employers to impress them.
The following step- an apprenticeship- is utterly necessary. Its like an internship- you work with someone absent of salary, and study more as you go along. You will get intrinsic knowledge about the tattoo business. Look around, ask around for apprenticeships. You may even approach a tattoo parlor with your portfolio.
Your apprenticeship ceases when your instructor, or mentor, or shop-proprietor determines you are ready to tattoo professionally. He may sign a contract with you, or hire you as an employee. As time goes on, youll learn more techniques and procedures. It is all-important for you, as a tattoo artist, to be open to discovering and growing your skill.
Its important to research the kinds of equipment that you might be using- tattoo guns, needles, tubes, tattoo starter kits, machines, inks, etc- and regarding inks, it is crucial to carry a wide variety of colours so that you can create rich, unique and intricate designs. You need to learn how to clean your equipment, prevent cross-contamination, and essentially- you need to know how and what to sterilise, and how to properly dispose of contaminated materials. Not learning these things properly can land you in a rather messy lawsuit, as you will literally have someone elses blood on your hands! Safety should be your number one priority, and the best way to learn it is under a reliable and reputed tattoo artist, who has years of experience.
Learning how to effectively implement a tattoo to 100s of different varieties of skin without damaging your customer can take years. An apprenticeship will train you to customize particular designs to meet the needs and wants of your clients. Through ceaseless practice, you will learn how to gain your speed, better your consistency and expeditiously go from one customer to the next. Above all, constant dedication and tenaciousness pay off, and if you have these, along with a love for tattooing- then you will go places!

In Japan tattooing is called Irezumi which denotes to inserting ink beneath the skin. There are some that think the art of tattooing in Japan dates back to at least 10,000 BC still there has never been any definitive proof to back up this belief.
What we do know for a fact is that tattoo designs were seen and noted by Chinese travellers between 300 BC and 600 AD. This does not confirm the widespread popularity of tattoos as it was also during this time that tattoos were viewed in a very negative light, criminals were being marked with them as a form of punishment so that they would always be recognisable in any society that they lived.
From 1600 ” 1868 the popularity of tattoos in Japan was very much up and down. Although they were still being used to mark criminals they were also being used a lot more frequently for decorative purposes and it was at the end of this time that tattooing began to develop into the amazing art form that we are so familiar with today.
A sudden spike in the popularity of tattoos was caused by the release of a great Chinese novel called Suikoden. Within this book there were many pictures of men that were heavily tattooed with elaborate designs of dragons, mythical creatures, tigers and flowers as well as a lot of religious symbols.
The many tattoos that were inspired by Suikoden were performed with chisels and gouges and the ink that was used was called Nara Ink which became hugely famous because of the fact that it turned blue-green beneath the skin.
Tattoos were banned in Japan in the very late 1800s but once again became legal in 1945. Today the art of tattooing remains legal across the country however it is still frowned upon by some due to the inescapable connection with the criminal underworld.

Digging through the old bags and boxes in your attic could be worth some money on that huge online garage sale we know as eBay. Whether you like eBay or not, there is no denying that a lot of money changes hands every day on the site.
If you have things sitting around your house that get moved about but never used, they might be good candidates for selling on eBay. It is amazing the amount of stuff we keep sitting around for no good reason. These are often items we didn’t (and wouldn’t) buy for ourselves.
If you are just starting to sell on eBay, don’t make your first items anything that you think you will miss next month. Choose your items carefully and not out of haste. You can always list more items later.
Once you have assembled a collection of garage sale type items, click over to eBay. First, check to see if there is anything similar to what you are selling currently listed. This will give you an idea of how popular your items are and how much competition is out there.
Next you will want to check out the prices of completed listings. To do this, you will need to be a registered eBay user. You can sign up for free without buying a thing. You can see completed listings by clicking a box at the side of the screen. Completed listings show items that either sold or that received no bids during their auction run.
By this point you should have an idea of a reasonable asking price for your items. Now, by following the step by step selling instructions, you can get your old stuff actively up for sale in this huge online garage sale we call eBay. The listing process is pretty simple and once you have gotten used to it, you will be able to list several items inside of an hour.
It all comes down to buy low and sell high. If you are selling items you already own and just want to get rid of, then it is like it’s all profit. With just bit of research you can start pulling in some extra cash every week.
Most of the stuff I list is just sitting there and hardly cost me any money at all. When people come by and decide to buy it, it is like a little bonus coming my way. This big online garage sale gets visitors at all hours of the day and night and one of the best parts is that I never have to sit at a table making change!
