    Holidays To Cuba.

    Sunday, October 4th, 2009

At this point you might have already decided that Cuba is the place that you want to visit for your next long hold destination but perhaps need some guidance on the actual booking process. This might seem a little bit trivial but it is without doubt not the case trying to arrange Cuba Tours .

The truth is that this Caribbean island is becoming ever more popular every year and this creates a dilemma for some travel agents . Cuba is not a late booking destination, at least not if you are planning to go in the so called high season.

In Cuba high season, comprises Easter period and the summer months of July and August, predominantly popular among people travelling with kids . November, December, January, February and March are awfully trendy months especially among the European tourists in search of a warm country to avoid few days of miserable weather.

Quite frequently I get clients requesting me to arrange a holiday for them in the above mentioned months , and every so often the phone call comes to close to the date of travel. I can not tell you how frustrating this situation is . For one simple thing , I can not shine recommending a package holiday for the fact that the most interesting resorts and best hotels are completely sold out , and then I am left with the only honest answer I can give. “I am truthfully sorry but at this point there is nothing available that I feel comfortable recommending ”

If you want to stay in big resorts then there is not much to be concerned about. The problem presents it self when customers are interested in combining areas like Havana, Viales Valley, Las Terrazas, Cienfuegos, Trinidad and or Santiago de Cuba. Areas like these with the exception of Havana are very limited when it comes to hotel availabilities.

If what you want is to organise a tailor made Cuba holiday in a high season my guidance to you is to call at least 4 months prior to departure in order to secure not only the rooms in your preferred hotels but also the best fares from the airlines . If you regrettably did not find this article before and are planning a last minute tailor made holiday , the likelihood is something will be found for you but surely the odds of getting the best hotels are not bright

If you are travelling in the low season months you could call even few days before your departure date . Even so we feel very confident to put together the kind of itinerary that will fulfil your holidays

I truly hope you find some good tips in this article and wish you the very best when visiting Cuba .

    Gay Travel Guide, Cancun

    Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009

Who wouldn’t like Cancun’s lovely white beaches, historical sites, and a nightlife that can’t be beat? This is a great city for gays to visit and provides a lot of places for a gay tourist to go that are in operation solely to entertain gay visitors. No one should go to Cancun without sampling a bit of everything from the rich tradition of the Mayans.

Cancun offers both modern day fun in the busy city and historical, educational benefits in the ancient ruins nearby. Make sure you plan for at least a day to tour the Temple of Kukulcan. The place of prayer is worth seeing, however there is a valid excuse to come soon when one travels when it is Spring or Autumn Equinox.

The pyramid’s corner projected a shadow shaped like the legendary snake Kukulcan as the sun moved slowly across the heavens. The Mayans believed the serpent fertilized the earth when it reached the ground.

The wonderful city located on the Yucatan Peninsula in a place known as the Mexican Caribbean was built in 1970 and till then it had only three living people who were the caretakers for a coconut plantation. Until then, it contained the remnants of the Mayans, natural beauty and of course, coconut trees. Today, you will discover the magic of the ancient integrated with a contemporary city whose oldest building was built after 1970.

If you love water and sun then Cancun is right for you. Of course, you can go to any beach on Cancun, but the white sand across from Ruinas del Rey is the main gay beach. Cancun is gay friendly and the beach allows a great day of sun and sand with some time to chance upon a friendly meeting.

If simply lying out in the sun or cruising the beach isn’t active enough, there are ample spots to snorkel, scuba dive, sail or fish. For evening entertainment, take a dinner cruise.

With all the activities of the day, take a nap after dinner to prepare for the nightlife. Nightlife doesn’t begin until 10:30 and then goes through the night to 5:00 in the morning.

There is a large diversity in the bar scene, but if you are looking to mesh with the gay scene, Karamba is the place to go. There’s entertainment to suite every taste in popular music. Get a seat early, because after midnight, the joint fills up with locals, but the place only holds 450 people.

The earliest drinking joint for gays in Cancun is Picante. They have get-togethers on all nights, however during off days the get-together is inclusive of outfits as well as good actings. Go on Thursday for Tequila night and free shots.

You can find a lot of gay friendly hotels and resorts like Hyatt Regency Cancun, Gran Melia Cancun, Presidente InterContinental and The Ritz-Carlton.

Gay Tourism Guide, Yucatan Cenotes and Caves

    Monday, April 13th, 2009

If you are scouting new and interesting places for gay travel, there are all kinds of wonderful options available. If you enjoy the oceans and soaking up the sun on sandy beaches, the rich Mexican coasts provide a number of captivating opportunities.

However, the coast isn’t the only option for water fun in Mexico. Many visitors have discovered the incredible sights and sounds of a Cenote vacation in the country’s Yucatan region.

A Cenote is a natural sinkhole that is part of an intricate network of beautiful, age old rivers and caves that exist about 60 feet beneath the surface. They are carved from a subterranean landscape, and are one of the most striking features of the natural world.

Cenotes were formed in a process that took many thousands of years as caves and caverns collapsed to create sinkholes that become receptacles for water runoff. This provided a source of fresh water for the ancient Maya people in places with limited supplies of fresh water.

In antiquity, Cenotes played an important role surrounding spiritual rituals and the afterlife. They were considered the gateway to life after death, and were fastidiously maintained, allowing them to survive nearly unscathed in modern times.

Some people may hear words like “subterranean” and “underground” and conjure an image of a dark and foreboding place that’s hardly suitable for a vacation. But, the exact opposite is true.

Cenote vacation areas have plenty of incredible adventures to offer. There are thousands of these Cenotes in the Yucatan region, and these caverns are some of the most attractive and unique destinations for the avid world traveler.

There are many reasons to visit a Cenote in Yucatan. The crystalline waters themselves are quite enjoyable as they are among the most beautiful and clear waters in all of Mexico.

These waters are completely free of currents making them quite relaxing and placid. The temperatures of the waters reach and average of 75 degrees making them significantly enjoyable to bask in. Such benefits are next to impossible to find in lakes and waters on the surface world and that makes a trip to a Cenote an original vacation concept.

Before rushing off to visit a Cenote, you’ll want to do a bit of research ahead of time. After all, with thousands of Cenotes in the area, you’ll want to choose the right location for your vacation needs.

When you visit a Cenote, come prepared to enjoy the wonderful sights you’ll see on the way. To get to your destination, you’ll walk down historic foot paths that are centuries old, and the rock formations that you’ll enjoy are millennia old. So, don’t rush past them to your destination; instead take some time to soak in the almost surreal, historic sights.

You might consider joining a tour group with a guided tour of the Cenote to take full advantage of this captivating experience. You’re sure to enjoy yourself and bring home many wonderful memories.

    Wednesday, April 8th, 2009

If you are searching for an exciting getaway that is rich in history and packed with fun, your search is over. The destination that will meet your needs is Chichen Itza. This amazing historic location is considered to be one of the new Seven Wonders of the World. Your memories of this site will live remain with you throughout your lifetime since it is absolutely unforgettable.

Chichen Itza is located in Mexico, close to Cancun. If you are traveling to Cancun for a little fun in the sun, you can easily travel to Chichen Itza by car or bus. It is a great day trip that takes you away from the excitement of Cancun and into a calmer atmosphere full of its own special kind of excitement. Chichen Itza will allow you to explore all sides of Mexico and get a full cultural experience.

The archeological site of Chichen Itza blends the styles of the Puuc and the Toltec. The buildings display an architectural style that is delicately styled and laid out and feature detailed sculptures that represent Mayan gods.

The earliest discoveries at the site date from 1 AD to 250 AD. The finding is very close to a large well that turned the spot into a center of activity for the Mayans. Chichen Itza quickly became known as a prominent social center. Due to it close proximity to the sea it was accessed by those coming in from a sea journey.

It is believed that Itza warriors were the first to inhabit Chichen Itza. The city was named for the well, with its name meaning “Mouth of the Well of the Itza” This settlement allowed the Itza people to rule the Yucatan peninsula.

The perfect time to visit this site is during the spring equinox. The equinox takes place on the 21st of March and is an archeoastronmical phenomenon. On March 21st, when the sun shines equally on the Southern and Northern hemispheres, a serpent projection from the sun can be seen as the sun sets.

Witnessing this event has become a tradition at Chichen Itza. People flock to the area to witness the phenomenon. As the serpent projection appears above the temple it appears to move and creates a grand illusion. The illusion lasts for only two minutes, but they are minutes that are well spent. This incredible phenomenon is unexplainable and must be seen to be appreciated since words used to describe it can not do it justice.

Chichen Itza is one of the new Seven Wonders of the World. People from all over have voted on this site because of its fame as a Mayan temple city. It was important to the Mayan people and continues to be an important historic spot.

The various areas of the site are truly gems. From the Kukulkan pyramid to the Chac Mool temple to the Hall of the Thousand Pillars. The structures remaining are amazing. They add to the general charm of the area and allow visitors to fully respect this long age fallen city.
