Wedding Event Photography

Monday, January 11th, 2010

An event photographer is someone who you want to photograph your wedding. You will want them to posses a few qualities such as style, motivation, experience and good communication. Event photographers will only possess these qualities if they are well trained, so make sure they have experience so they can focus on what you want.

There are different styles for every event photographer. Your ideas about your wedding should coincide with the photographer’s style. Otherwise, a horrible experience might be the end result. Depending on the style that your event photographer will use will vary. Traditional and wild are two extreme styles of photographers. Traditional pictures will consist of those of the bride herself, the groom himself, the bride and groom together, the wedding party, and everyone all together. Making funny faces and having completely serious faces might be considered a wild style.

When choosing an event photographer you will want one who is highly motivated. You do not want to have someone who is inactive and sitting around missing all the good pictures they could be capturing. Motivation isn’t just about doing the job, but enjoying it and communicating are also involved.

Over time is the only way an event photographer will gain experience. Make sure you ask your photographer how long they have been in the business, where they attended school and for how long, and who they were employed with before they went into business for themselves (if that is the case). This should help you when making a clear decision on an event photographer. Ask their previous employer what kind of work they produced if they are now in business for themselves. It may be a devious way of getting information but it is better to find out then to have horrible pictures produced.

It is a good idea to choose an event photographer who you comfortable around. When you are around them they should make you feel comfortable as well. This will help them in capturing the precious photos later on at your wedding. If you are nervous around your event photographer you will see that emotion in your wedding pictures.

Steps Towards Having A Successful Wedding Photography

Monday, December 28th, 2009

Aside from the person who actually conducts your wedding ceremony, possibly the most important element of your wedding is the wedding photographer. This individual has the responsibility of recording your important day and endeavoring to catch every memory on film. It is very important that you see first the work of different photographers so you will be able to choose the best one whose style and vision matches what you would like to have on your wedding day.

For a smooth running photo session, here are a few tips:

1. List all the photographs you want to have taken. State precisely what you want! Include who and what you want photographed, when it should be taken, and where the photo should be made. It is necessary to mark off the amount of coverage you prefer as well. The wedding day can be divided into four photographic sessions which are: the pre-wedding photos, the ceremony, the organized set shots or location shoot, and the reception.

2. Talk! Let people know where to be for the photo shoot and when to be there. Be certain that they understand when, where and what to wear.

3. Make sure that the wedding photographer and you are both on the same page regarding your requirements, and have everything put in writing and signed in agreement.

4. Respect the process. Your wedding day is your special day. However, if you are feeling stressed, try to put yourself in the photographer’s shoes as he tries to assemble all the necessary people and elements for a photo. Members of the bridal party, friends, relatives, family members — everyone mingling, chatting and getting in the way.

If you follow these steps, it will help your peace of mind and avoid problems for everyone. You can ensure that the wedding ceremony begins as scheduled and that everyone arrives at the reception on time and gets their share of the wedding meal. The wedding photographer is the person responsible for capturing the memories of this day, so be good to him or her so that you will be satisfied with the result.

Points On Selecting A Corporate Photographer

Sunday, December 20th, 2009

Occasions like an important symposium or a major customer visit do not come often, and it is critical to keep a record of such events in the form of images, which you can later use for both inside and outside company circulation. Taking these images requires event photographers.

Event photography is quite different from regular photography or even professional photography in a studio environment, as the photographer does not have any say in the happenings of the event. Covering an event demands a great deal of talent, and the photographer needs to be able to handle difficult scenarios. Most importantly, there are no repeat shots for a corporate photographer.

It is needless to say that you have to be aware of several aspects while picking an event photographer to cover a corporate occasion. Ability to adjust the camera so that it functions properly indoors is necessary, because most corporate venues do not have any natural light. You must also ensure that the photographer does not carry a bad quality camera with low resolution or lack of adaptability to relatively darker surroundings.

It is very important to get on board a professional event photographer from an established company. To make sure that the photographer will do justice to your needs, ask for some samples of his past work. Getting feedback from the photographer’s past customers can also be of help.

Last but not the least, you should attempt to acquaint yourself with the selected corporate photographer and communicate your requirements in detail. This is essential, because any misunderstanding can prove to be expensive. Such a conversation will also allow you to understand how capable the photographer is, and how comfortable he is likely to be at the event. Moreover, a comprehensive discussion would put the corporate photographer at comfort and he would be able to deliver his job adequately well done.

An event photographer is someone who you want to photograph your wedding. They should be motivated, have good experience and communication and most likely they will have their own style. An event photographer should be highly motivated, try to find one who is. You do not want to have someone who is lazy and sitting around missing all the good shots they could be capturing. Motivation is not just about wanting to do the job, but finding a way to appreciate it and bring trust as well as good verbal communication to everyone as well.

Over time is the only way an event photographer will gain experience. In some cases you should ask questions such as where they were previously employed and for how long. This should help you when making a clear decision on an event photographer. Ask their previous employer what kind of work they produced if they are now in business for themselves. Make sure that you are comfortable around your event photographer. When you are around them they should make you feel comfortable as well. Creative DIY Wedding invitations

Saturday, May 23rd, 2009

The wedding invitation is the first thing a guest sees in relation to your wedding (other than a save-the-date, if you sent it), so you want to make it good. The way to make it good is to make it memorable by crafting your own creative DIY invitations. A creative DIY invitation doesn’t mean the invitation has to be in some cut-out shape, like a heart or a tree, or in primary colors (unless your wedding colors happen to fall in that spectrum). You can make a wedding invitation creative by just personalizing it a little bit.

Start off by personalizing the images that will appear on your invitation. Including a photo of the happy couple is a good way to start. Typically your engagement photo appears on the save-the-date notices, but if you had two excellent photos from the session or if you didn’t send save-the-dates, include a new photo on your DIY invitations.

You can also get creative with your DIY wedding invitations through the wording on the invitations. While there’s standard phrasing depending on who’s hosting your wedding - and you might want to stick close to that to make sure no one’s feelings get hurt - there are a lot of other ways you can add text to personalize a DIY invitation. For example, add a romantic quote from your favorite song on the front of your folded wedding invitation. Some quotes I particularly like are:

- “With this ring, I give my all to you.” - Clyde Otis and Vincent Corso, “With This Ring” - “How wonderful life is now you’re in the world.” - Elton John, “your song” - “You’re the closest to heaven that I’ll ever be.” - Goo Goo Dolls, “Iris” - “Come away with me, and I’ll never stop loving you.” - Norah Jones, “Come Away with Me”

The best choice might be to pick a lyric from “your” song. It’s especially nice if it happens to be your first dance song. If you’re not particularly musical, but like the idea of special text on your invitations, try a romantic quote instead. Something like this:

“Love is composed of a single soul inhabiting two bodies.” –Aristotle “Your words are my food, your breath my wine. You are everything to me.” –Sarah Bernhardt “I love her and that’s the beginning of everything.” –F. Scott Fitzgerald “To love is to receive a glimpse of heaven.” –Karen Sunde
